What is the VSG Power Series 4: Knockout

This race is part of the VSG Power Series, a five-race competition where participants compete against riders within their designated power category. What is the race format?

Series 4 How to play

VSG Series 4: Knockout Race is a 1v1 elimination-style competition where riders of the same Power category face off in short, intense 5 km duels with no drafting mechanics, enabled—making it a pure test of individual power and pacing. Riders will be randomly drawn to determine their first-round opponents.

Series 4 knockout system

Winners of each match will advance through the main bracket, while the losers move into a second-chance “Losers' Bracket.” This creates a modified double-elimination format where even after a loss, a rider still has a chance to fight their way back to the final.

In each round, duels continue with winners advancing and losers either dropping into or being eliminated from the bracket, depending on the round. Eventually, the top rider from the winners' bracket and the last-standing rider from the losers' bracket will meet in the Grand Final — a winner-takes-all 5 km showdown.

Note: Depending on the final number of participants, the race distance may be shortened or increased, and the number of matches will be adjusted accordingly.
